This new watch from Piaget, is the Polo S Green Limited. For now, the company has decided to have this timepiece be a limited edition probably because of its striking color. One can speculate that the firm would make this a permanent member of the collection if sales warrant such status, but for now the watch will only be done in one 500 piece batch. The Polo S was first launched back in 2016, and created plenty of buzz due to its design. Due to some success early on, Piaget made the decision to move forward and expand the collection. Bold colors has always been a passion of the designers at Piaget, as well as playing with lacquer and garnering colors from stones. A good example would be the Piaget Altiplano Automatic. Malachite offers a very vibrant green, and it is a semi precious stone that can be relied upon for its warmth. Use of such stones and colors is really vintage Piaget.

The dial on this new Polo S Green does remind us of malachite, but on this particular dial, the lines are engraved. This creates play with the lights, and offers a unique personality to the watch that differs fro the malachite stone. This watch release offers a very masculine tone, with the case measuring in at a stout 42 millimeters in diameter. However at only 9.4 millimeters in thickness, the watch wears comfortably at the wrist. Shirt cuffs will not suffer with this watch, and ladies will also be attracted by this timepiece. The crystal is made of sapphire, and also is the exhibition caseback. This offers a fine view of the slim 1110P calibre watch movement. This is an in house movement that is automatic, and has a frequency of 4Hz, or 28,800 vph. The movement offers a power reserve of 50 hours, and that is enough to put the watch away for 2 days, and revisit it.

There are no surprises regarding the decoration of this watch. Yes the Cotes de Geneve are both on the bridges as well as the rotor of the movement, and also displays the Piaget Coat of Arms. The watch comes in at a price point of about $9,900, and in my opinion, is very much worth it. To review the specs one more time, the watch is 42 millimeters wide, and 9.4 millimeters thick. The watch offers 100 meters in water resistance, and is safe to take for a swim. The hands and markers are all lumed, and there is a date window at the 6 o’clock. Last but not least, the watch comes with a strap made of alligator, and has a striking color of green to it. For more information, please visit Thank you.
