The Promaster is Citizen’s collection of pro tool watches. This year will mark the 30th anniversary of the Promaster watch series. To celebrate this anniversary, Citizen has released three limited edition timepieces in the Promaster collection. One celebrates air, the other land, and the other sea. So lets take a good look at these three new Citizen watches. It really is easy to admire Citizen Promaster watches. The company has never been afraid to use modern tech to create more effective, functional watches. Yes its true that these watches are quartz, but they are highly functional time pieces of strong complexity, and that is very attractive.
The Air model, which is the Eco Drive Satellite Wave GPS, it uses the caliber 990 watch movement. This movement is solar powered, and has built in GPS tat automatically adjusts the time based on where the owner’s location is. The GPS is synced to an atomic clock, and that ensures dead on time keeping. Its an awesome watch for a person always on the go around the world, and it is quite useful. Also the watch is 200 meters depth rated for water resistance. Citizen is serious about the durability of its watches, and it shows.
The Land model is the Eco Drive Altichron , and is an equally impressive timepiece. It does not have the GPS, but is does have an altimeter that can measure 300 meters below sea level as well as 10,000 meters above sea level. That is enough to serve a human venturing in to the deepest valleys on earth, or the planet’s highest mountain peaks. It comes in a titanium case, and yes it also has the 200 meters of water resistance. The watch is solar powered, and is just amazing.
As for the Sea model, the Eco Drive Aqualand 200m, has a built in dept gauge. This permits the watch to be a backup to a dive computer. The watch has large hands with heavy lume and makes use of two colors for legibility. Green is for the time, and blue is for depth. The watch is also solar powered, but has a stainless steel case this time around. As always the water resistance is 200 meters, and the watch is very functional.
The price points for these watches are as follows. The Air model sells for $2,500, and is limited to 1989 pieces. The Land model is priced at $975, and is limited to 1989 pieces, and the Sea model is limited to 6000 pieces; selling for $775. Please go to citizenwatch-global.com to read more. Thank you.
