Its obvious to all in the watch world, that dive watches are hot these days. The vintage style are coming full circle, and Bulova is not blind to this. Last year Bulova did a great job of launching its Devil Diver watch, and now they have decided to build on that success with their new Devil Diver models. They have two new models to offer, and new color options that will grab the eye of more interested collectors.
Other than the new colors available, the two new watches mirror the Oceanographer Devil Diver that was launched last year. The design of the watch case is very similar to the Seiko Turtle, and yes that is not a bad thing at all. It is a rugged design with awesome wrist presence.

Unidirectional timing bezels surround the dials with a 15 to 45 minute color split. One watch has the green with black bezel having the green dial, and the other watch has an orange and blue bezel having the blue dial. These new colors are quite vibrant and attractive, and i believe 2019 will be remembered as a year that started something special is watch coloring. The dials are the most interesting aspect to the Devil Diver watches. The dials have the crosshairs style having four large indices appearing like lume pots elevated within plastic tubes. The choice of font adds flavor to the dials, and the dept rating of 666 is both awesome and Devilish at the same time. This is why the watches have their name. Vintage watch lovers are going to love the way these new models remain faithful to the Devil Diver watches done back in the 1970’s.

The watches are powered by the Miyota 821D movement. This makes sense as Citizen of Japan is the parent company of Bulova. It is a basic, and yet very reliable and tested watch movement that happens to be used in scores of watches all around the world. It is a self winding movement that has a manual winding capability as well. The watch beats at 21,6000 vph, having a frequency of 3Hz. The power reserve is 42 hours, but the watch does not hack. The case is a large 44 millimeters in diameter, and is 14.5 millimeters thick. These Devil Diver watches are priced to sell at $795. Go to bulova.com and take a good hard look at their website and catalog. Bulova offers plenty of affordable watches, and these dive watches are a must have for anyone looking to buy for under $1000.
