The Tutima Patria Power Reserve.

During 2018, Tutima Watches expanded its high end Patria watch collection, and added a very practical power reserve model. Even though the brand is best known for its chronographs, and its heavy duty sports watches, the brand loves to explore all avenues of watchmaking, and is especially interested in achieving 100% in house status with its movements and creations. For many years Tutima made northern Germany its home, but after a while, the company managed to move back to its place of origin at Glashutte.

This is where the firm hand crafts its high end Patria watches, and they are a true work of horological art. The Patria watch collection celebrates the company’s history using beautiful in house movements.
The Tutima Patria Power Reserve actually has a power reserve indicator on its dial. The new feature is located at the 9 o’clock having two tone markers over 300 degrees. Just as with its seconds sub dial at 6 o’clock, the power reserve indicator is somewhat recessed.

The dial is silver and it stands out with all of its clarity, aesthetics, and reserved style. The hands are solid gold, and of course they are hand made. This German made watch is powered by the calibre 618, which is an updated version of the calibre 617. The movement features 34 added components, and seven added jewels. The movement beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour and has a very comfortable power reserve of 65 hours.

The 618 has the three quarter panel, and is decorated a bit differently than movements used in the earlier Patria models. The bridges are finished and frosted, not striped. The case is done in 18k pink gold, and comes in at 43 millimeters in diameter. Yes the watch is somewhat big, bit is quite comfortable on the wrist because of the nicely curved lugs. Sapphire is used for the crystal and the caseback, and offers an awesome view of the movement at work.

The watch comes with a beautiful alligator strap, and a pin buckle to finish it off. The watch is priced at just under $19,000 or EUR 16,000. For more information, please visit Tutima online.
